Lunafest 2011 - our third annual foray into films by, for and about women in partnership with Luna was a great success!

The ongoing work of TSF is complemented by the breathtaking endeavors of like-minded organizations with similar motivations to help girls and women. With great pride and enthusiasm, we are delighted to announce the TSF grant recipients who will receive $1,000 grants to continue their remarkable work in the local and global community.

Congratulations to the following:

Nest empowers female artisans around the world by offering interest-free microfinance loans, mentoring from designers, and a market in which to sell their crafts.

N Street Village offers a safe, empowering community for nearly 900 women facing homelessness, poverty, and related challenges by providing comprehensive health services and life skills training.

Community Bridges provides multicultural empowerment and leadership programs for young girls in Silver Spring, Maryland, empowering them to become exceptional students, positive leaders, and healthy young women.

Young Women’s Drumming Empowerment Project gives rise to young women’s self-esteem, positive development, and creative self expression through drumming, poetry, movement, song, and performance.

Help TSF continue to help others by making a tax deductible donation and know that your generosity will support the blossoming of girls and women in DC and around the world.

TSF is excited to announce Lunafest 2011 – our third annual forray into films by, for and about women in partnership with Lunafest!

The festival will be held in Washington, DC’s Dupont Circle neighborhood the 6:30-9:00pm, TONIGHT, Thursday, April 21st.

2011 grantees to be unveiled late March

TSF awards grants to 501(c)(3) charitable organizations with programming that reflects TSF’s Mission and Values. Grantee nominations were open to the public for the first time in 2011, and we would like to thank everyone for participating in that process. Grantees will be announced in late March 2011.
